Balcomie Links

Balcomie Links is only 10 miles south from St Andrews Old Course, New Course and Jubilee Course.

One of the toughest links golf courses in Scotland, Balcomie Links has a Par of just 69.

The 9 Par 4's, 6 Par 3's and the 3 Par 5's make it both enchanting and a great test of a golfers ability.

Don't be fooled by the yardage as in the wind its tough and at one of Scotland's Hidden Gems.

It goes without saying that its normally tough as days without wind are very rare.

The famed Balcomie Links is the oldest of the two championship golf courses at Crail Golfing Society.

The newer course is Craighead Links which was designed by course architect Gil Hanse from the USA.

Crail Golfing Society was founded in 1786 making it the 7th oldest golf club in the world.

Laid out by Old Tom Morris in 1895, this traditional links course was created using the natural contours of the land.

It is the older, much older of the two links courses at Crail.

Accuracy not power will prevail here.

Include it in your Scottish golf vacation or spend the entire day at Crail.

Meridian Golf Tours recommends including both Balcomie Links and Craighead Links in your itinerary.
