Craighead Golf Course
Craighead Golf Course is the newest of the two championship golf courses at Crail with the much older golf course being Balcomie Links.
Crail Golfing Society was founded in 1786 making it the 7th oldest golf club in the world. The relatively new addition in 1998 of Craighead Links comes highly recommended and has already hosted numerous prestigious competitions. Whilst Balcomie is a shorter more traditional layout, Craighead has been expertly created by American architect Gil Hanse and is much longer.
Most of the holes on Craighead Links offers spectacular views overlooking the sea.To the left you are looking towards Carnoustie Golf Links on the Angus Coast and to the right Edinburgh and the East Lothian Courses all the way along to North Berwick.
The way the holes have been laid out on Craighead, means that the wind hits you from a different direction almost every hole.
Sitting on Fife Ness, the views from almost every hole are spectacular.
The spectacular Clubhouse which was virtually rebuilt when it was extended and refurbished in 2009. Perched high on a rock overlooking the 18th green on the Balcomie Course it affords spectacular panoramic views. This makes it one of the most magnificent locations for any golf clubhouse in Scotland.
Crail Golfing Societys Clubhouse boasts 2 bars for relaxing with a drink after your round or a meal and 3 dining areas to cater for all types of groups.
A large sitting on the outside decking which is perfect for a lovely summers day.
