Gleneagles Kings Course
Gleneagles Kings Course is one of the finest heathland golf courses in Scotland.
This 6,452 yard Par 71 course, designed by James Braid, winds it way serenely through the Estate of the Gleneagles Hotel amidst the magnificent Perthshire hills.
James Braid has produced a masterpiece of design over the King's Course Gleneagles, which has tested the shot making of the the best golfers in the world.
The first hole is a difficult start. With a wide fairway to hit you are left with what appears an easy pitch to the green. Get it wrong and you will be severely punished.
The course has 2 superb finishing holes with the dogleg 17th where you cannot allow your tee shot to go right and the last which plays downhill over a saddle toward the stately hotel in the distance.
The 15 holes in between are a beautiful mixture requiring both accurate shot making and course management. The correct club selection is vital to score well and accuracy and not length is the key to a fine score.
Gleneagles Kings course is one of three championship courses offered by Gleneagles Golf, the others being the Queen's Course and the PGA Centenary Course, which hosted the 2014 Ryder Cup matches. The combination of the majestic Gleneagles Hotel and 3 of the top golf courses in Scotland, make this an ideal venue to include in a Scotland golf trip.
