Jubilee Course St Andrews

Jubilee Course St Andrews

The Jubilee Course St Andrews is one of 3 championship courses within St Andrews.

The other championship courses are the famous St Andrews Old Course and the New Course.

Regarded as one of the best courses in Scotland, the Jubilee Course celebrated its centenary on 22 June 1997.

Over the last 100 years, the Jubilee Course has developed from a 12-hole basic layout into one of the top golf courses in Scotland and probably the sternest test of the St Andrews golf courses.

Originally a 12 hole course it was intended for ladies and beginners to ease pressure on the Old Course.

It was created on a narrow strip of land between the New Course and the sea.

Many improvements were made over the years and was finally completed in June 1946.

Willie Auchterlonie, whose alterations turned it into a championship course, struck a ball from the first tee to open it.

The Jubilee Course St Andrews is one of seven St Andrews courses administered by the Links Trust.

The other 6 course are the famous Old Course St Andrews, New, Castle, Eden, Strathtyrum and Balgove.

The Jubilee Course St Andrews is well worth playing on a visit to St Andrews.
