The course at Royal Dornoch is one of the most famous in Scotland, situated 45 miles north of Inverness on the east coast of Sutherland in the Scottish Highlands.
However, it wasn't until 1877 that Old Tom Morris designed the initial 9 holes now known as Royal Dornoch.
The golf course today is in a timeless setting and a joy to play, with the pure white sand of the beach separating it from the Dornoch Firth. Its raised greens require precise approach play.
Its reputation as one of the best golf courses in Scotland is underlined by the fact that it has over 200 overseas members from the USA alone and had it not been in a remote location, would surely have hosted an Open Championship.
A "must play" course during Scotland golf trips.
