The Turnberry Ailsa course has been completely transformed.

Located on the west coast of Scotland at the magnificent Turnberry Resort.

The famous Ailsa course reopened in June 2016 following the extensive remodelling of the course.

With a history spanning well over 100 years, Trump Turnberry has undergone a complete refurbishment. The Hotel has been upgraded along with the course alterations.

Trump Turnberry has invested over £200m to completely restore and revamp this magnificent resort.

The Ailsa course was redesigned by the illustrious golf course architects MacKenzie and Ebert.

Their redesign includes the creation of 5 new holes and alterations to tee and green positions to bring the rugged shoreline more into play.

Other holes have undergone reshaping and bunker changes and the changes are simply stunning.

Turnberry boasts 2 championship golf courses, the Ailsa and the Kintyre.

The Ailsa is most probably the best known having hosted the Open Championships on 4 occasions.

The Open held there in 1977 being the most memorable.

The climatic final round between Jack Nicklaus and eventual winner Tom Watson being labelled the Duel in the Sun.

This was generally regarded as the best finish to a major championship in the modern era.

It was possibly eclipsed by the performance of both Phil Mickelson and Henrik Stenson at Royal Troon in 2016.

The Turnberry Ailsa course reopened in June 2016 and although the changes will take some time to bed in.
